Denise Alayón is a NY-based illustrator, designer, and printmaker born and raised in Puerto Rico. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts (NYC) in 2023 with a BFA in Illustration. Her work is inspired by her love of animals and the vibrant colors of the Caribbean. She is passionate about bookmaking and loves collecting picture books. Most of her work comes to life through the process of risograph printing. She has worked as a freelance illustrator with the book editorial Grupo SM (Puerto Rico) and as a design intern at Barefoot Books (Concord, MA). She is currently working as a freelance graphic designer in children’s book publishing. Her dream is to be a part of the amazing team that helps create those wonderful books that kids all over the world get to read and admire!
